Ashwin Sanghi was born on 25th January 1969 in Mumbai, India. He comes from a relatively privileged background as compared to most other Indians. But his passion for writing made him quit the luxury of good education and job to pursue his dream career.
Ashwin Sanghi had to fight hard to be recognized as an author. His first book The Rozabal Line was self-published by him after rejection from 47 literary agents and publishing houses. But finally this book was taken up by Tata-Westland for publishing with a new look. It went on to become a best seller and Ashwin Sanghi never looked back since!
Ashwin Sanghi’s biggest achievement has to be getting the top charts! Almost all the books that he published have gone on to become the best-sellers and grabbed the top spot for years. His book Chanakya’s Chant won the Crossword Popular Choice Award in 2011. His association with James Patterson in writing Private India recorded huge success. The book made it to New York Times Bestsellers List, UK Sunday Times Top 10 besides being a hit in India.
Ashwin Sanghi has a very unique style of writing. He blends use of Indian history and geography with thrilling story to create a compelling narrative. His writing is similar to the Dan Brown’s way of writing. Theology and mythology have formed an important backdrop of his fictional works.
